Safety Clothing

If you work in a business which provides you with some sort of safety wear, then you must wear it. You may find it annoying or cumbersome, but it has been provided for your protection. This could be anything from ear plus, and safety goggles, to metal toe cap boots or hard hats. There are all sorts of things that you might be required to wear, depending on your job.
Sometimes some people do not bother tow ear them. It might tempt you to do the same thing. However, if you look in your agreement or contract with the company, it is likely that there will be a clause about wearing safety equipment. You will find that it will state that if you do not wear the equipment provided or required, then the company will not be held responsible for any injury that you get as a result of not wearing it.
This means that they are putting the responsibility back to you. They cannot force you to wear it, but if you do not, then they are stepping away from their responsibility of offering you protection. It all makes perfect sense.
Getting injured is not nice, whether it ends up in some money being awarded from work accident injury claims or not. Money does not take away the pain and suffering and so you need to think long and hard about your responsibility to protect yourself in the work place and also work hard to keep yourself protected. If you feel the safety equipment is not good enough, do not wait for an accident or injury, say something about it so that it can be changed. You might be helping a lot of people in the company and not just yourself. No one wants to get injured and to suffer all that pain.
