This is not healthy for a child at all and may cause permanent damage to their lives. While this is true, there are parental rights for unmarried couples in the uk. If the couple have children, they should come together and figure out a way in which they can look after the children in an healthy way. Depending on the reason why they are not together they can be able to do this or not. If they can not agree they can get an arbitrator who will help them.
